Total War Mods; Please help with suggestions on what to play???
Hello there!
Download How To Install Thera Total War Freedom
I've played a hell of a lot of total war over time, since Medieval 1, but I'm relatively new to the modding scene. I've got the following games, please could I have some suggestions as to what mods I should play? I'm looking for something challenging but not so that the AI has crazy bonuses against me, so that it's as fair as possible, if that makes sense?
Any and all suggestions are welcome, I've heard there are good Warhammer Mods? If not, Lord of the Rings? Mainly historical stuff/Warhammer I'm interested in though! Let me know if you need any more information at all to help you helping me! :)
Rome Total War + expansions (put around 400 hours into vanilla a couple of years back, graphics put me off a little bit now; I would go back if there was a reallllyy good mod for it, but I'd prefer something for Med 2 onwards, please? :) )
Thera Total War Factions
Medieval 2 Total War + Kingdoms expansion (played the Kingdoms Grand Campaign mod which was enjoyable, for about 20 hours, around 700 hundred hours in vanilla (very bad estimate, but I absolutely hammered this at high school. Who needs exam grades? Fighting the Mongol Timurid invasions was ace!)
Empire: Total War + all DLC packs (was my favourite a while back but I've gone off it slightly, I have 249 hours logged on vanilla but I used to play in offline mode so I've got at least 3 times that if they were counted)
There is also the option of creating or editing spot tables that will be used by the RIP when needed. All leading brands of colour instruments are fully supported. To make sure the mooth running of the system the Shiraz Server software package includes a number of very useful tools. Shiraz rip server.
Napoleon: Total War + some of the DLC packs (least favourite, never played this in offline mode much and only got 3 hours logged in the game. Gameplay was good form what I remember, however I just didn't enjoy the reduced scale compared to Empire).
Total War: Shogun 2 + Nearly all the DLC packs (didn't get a couple of the FOTS clans) - 228 hours logged, very enjoyable but was disappointed with the limited unit rosters and again, the reduced scope (though I admit it worked a lot more for me here than Napoleon). Didn't enjoy the Realm Divide mechanic, nor how quick battles were over with everything just seemed to die so quickly.)
Total War: Rome II; put 571 hours into the game so far; game is ok vanilla but much better modded; I started with Radeous Total War, but have since moved on to Divide Et Impera; loved DET, but wish some of the AI factions would actually create large empires! Is there a sub mod for this at all?
Total War: Atilla: 197 hours logged, not quite as enjoyable as Rome 2 in the long run but still load it up here and there. Don't like the identikit unit rosters, which I've installed the Radeous: Total War mod for but still feel like it's not quite as good as it could be (no large empires spring up after the romans have fallen other than maybe the sassanids, enemies declaring war from across the map and following you with stacks, no resettling by AI empires, AI razing everything they can find).
If anyone could help with some suggestions for any of these games at all I'd be really grateful! :)
